Telling you about our family has little to do with you and your vacation.  I would rather explain how we ended up on the Key, and how it relates to your vacation.

We love Ft. Myers Beach, Marco Island, Naples, Siesta Key Beach & Venice Beach and often vacationed there.  But the crowds were starting to get to us...long lines at the restaurants, unbearable traffic, aircraft flying overhead every 5 minutes, and crowded beaches.  It was a little much, so we decided to look around.

So we set sail (well, I drove while my wife slept) up and down the Gulf Coast to all areas in-between, looking for that special vacation spot. We spent a week on every island from Marco Island to Anna Maria Island.  The process took several years as we looked at all aspects of what each Island had to offer.  All islands are beautiful and offer something special, but Manasota Key seemed to fill most of our requirements.  It has enough restaurants for a variety of cuisine, music at several places every day, and peaceful uncrowded beaches all right here at your doorstep.  It has great fishing, fishing charters, boat rentals, 5-6 restaurants, and a convenience store all within walking distance.  Just off the island are major grocery stores, golf, shopping, many more restaurants and a myriad of things to do. 

We discovered Manasota Key was the island that checked many of the boxes.  No, it's not as isolated as Gilligan's Island, but as close as you are going to get to a peaceful vacation with modern amenities.

In order to make your stay comfortable, we then asked ourselves what do we want when we rent?  What makes us attracted to a particular house?  Cleanliness, location, tasteful decor, A/C that works, right on the beach with no roads to cross and privacy.  So we refurbished all the cottages and gave these same amenities to you to enjoy - knowing we would settle for nothing less...so why should you?
